Welcome to our global orthopaedic network.
Our EFORT Portal is a milestone in developing the EFORT idea as started
by Prof. M. Freeman and Prof. J. Duparc.
Nowadays technology allows us to eliminate borders and distances. Every
one of the 35'000 orthopaedic surgeons from all 37 European National
Orthopaedic Associations will be able to communicate online. Members
of our 18 Speciality Societies can also develop their own programmes
when associated with EFORT. |

Enabling Technologies
Nowadays, information technologies such as computers, the Internet and
mobile devices are a part of physician's daily work. Societies look
for new and efficient ways to update their members. Pan-European multicentric
cooperation offer new opportunities to increase knowledge. EFORT understands that
information technologies must be efficient, cost saving and easily provided to the EFORT
members and the associated Societies:
- EFORT offers to its members access to various Internet resources,
such as the Portal and the EAR website
- EFORT enables groups to exchange information quickly and securely
via the EFORT Extranets
- EFORT porvides the EFORT Portal (www.portal.efort.org).
The portal contains a wealth
of information and will offer sophisticated tools, e.g for online meetings
- EFORT provides to the associated societies instruments for communicating
online, - such as the website templates, the 'member finds member'
database an tools for managing a society (member fees, CME
credit clearing etc.)
- EFORT embeds societies into its Portal by the Society Gallery
- EFORT supports the congress organisation of associated societies by
its online Abstract
