The treatment of articular cartilage defects has undergone a rapid and exciting evolution in recent years. Rehabilitation is widely considered an important component for successful outcomes but the considerable variation in current postoperative care is confusing for clinicians, therapists and patients. There is a need for a consensus on articular cartilage repair rehabilitation and the development of evidence-based clinical guidelines.
ICRS is responding to this need by announcing the first international meeting dedicated to the rehabilitation of the knee following articular cartilage repair to take place on June 29 - 30, 2007 at the Schulthess Clinic - Zurich, Switzerland.This is your opportunity to make a major contribution to the development of evidence-based clinical guidelines for articular cartilage repair rehabilitation and to discuss rehabilitation issues of importance in your clinical practice.

Since the foundation of ICRS 10 years ago, interest in tissue engineering has been growing enormously, not only in musculoskeletal repair but also in all type of organ repairs. ICRS is still be the main forum for different types of cartilaginous tissues easily described with the motto “From the tip of the nose down to the toes”. Warsaw will include some new ventures. The programme is very exciting and several speakers and session topics will be new to participants. Electronic poster presentations will allow many small discussion groups to focus on the researcher’s work in parallel and so use everyone’s time as efficiently as possible.
