In the pursuit of its aims, EFORT now organises annual European congresses, Experts meet Experts (ExMEx) meetings and Instructional Courses (ICs). We also initiate and support basic clinical research.

For many years now, EFORT has arranged travelling and visiting fellowships, where the different national associations alternate in hosting a group of young orthopaedic surgeons. EFORT is recognised as representing an outstanding level of orthopaedics and traumatology in Europe. We promote the exchange of experience, knowledge, education and research throughout Europe.

Related to those efforts, work is also ongoing to publish a new version of the EFORT Textbook. A European Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology will also be started soon, as will the publication of investigative reports in a special book series.
