Ladies and Gentlemen, dear colleagues,
It is a great pleasure for me to announce this first EFORT “e-newsletter” on behalf of the Portal Content Steering Group. The members of this group will provide you with regularly updated news from the EFORT web-portal, National as well as Specialty Society activities and scientific meeting highlights. To enhance our knowledge of European Orthopaedic development and different approaches, “Society of the Month” presentations will be enclosed as often as possible. More detailed and continuously actualized information can be found in the new portal under www.efort.org.
Personally I am convinced, that this new service will help to support Orthopaedic Surgeons in our Member Societies. You are kindly asked, however, to forward further suggestions to our new Portal manager Nuno Ferreira at nuno.ferreira@efort.org
With kindest regards,
Prof. Wolfhart Puhl
President of EFORT

Mini-invasive procedures concern at present not only well established techniques such as arthroscopic knee and shoulder soft tissue treatments, but also major procedures such as prostheses, implantations and trauma surgery.
Thus, the EFORT Scientific Committee decided to dedicate a large part of the Florence Scientific Programme to these procedures. Within a global number of 100 Symposia, Cross-Fires and Instructional Course Lectures, which represent the hard scientific core of the congress, 25 Symposia are related to mini-invasive procedures including arthroscopy. Moreover, among the 900 free papers to be presented in Florence, 250 free papers are focussed on these topics.
Therefore, we look forward to your participation in this EFORT Florence Congress, the most extensive in Europe thus far, oriented to the most recent and potentially most valuable techniques.
