The Experts’ Contribution:
Modern Technologies, Lasting Impact

Aligned with this year’s overarching theme—Modern Technologies in Orthopaedics: Challenging Ethics & Outcomes—the 2025 programme places special emphasis on how innovation reshapes not just what we can do, but what we should do in clinical practice.

The carefully curated sessions bring to life the complex convergence between evolving technologies, ethical considerations, and patient outcomes in orthopaedics.

Nowhere is this more evident than in our two Honorary Lectures, which showcase the profound influence of long-term experience, data, and reflective adaptation in orthopaedic surgery.

The Michael Freeman Honorary Lecture
Dr. Bas Masri (Canada) | “Classification of Periprosthetic Fractures Around the Hip. What Have We Learned in Thirty Years.”

Dr. Bas Masri, Professor of Orthopaedics at the University of British Columbia and a global expert on hip and knee reconstruction, brings three decades of insight into how evolving surgical practices and technology have influenced the classification and management of periprosthetic femoral fractures.
