23rd EFORT annual Congress

Congress highlights, what to expect in Lisbon?

As part of the educational content delivered during our annual meeting, EFORT features each year several scientific topics as the congress highlights overarching the on-site exchange between participants.

Among the specific hot topics closely related to the 2022 Main Theme, we are delighted to put forward:

  • treating an ageing population;
  • how to deal with expectations of new survivors;
  • the impact of globalization & migration;
  • pros and cons of new diagnostics (genetics, biomarkers and imaging techniques);
  • ....

Last chance to submit your abstract(s) for the EFORT Congress 2022!

Abstracts submitted for possible inclusion in the scientific programme of our upcoming 23rd EFORT Congress in Lisbon, Portugal from 22 to 24 June 2022 must correspond to previously unpublished work.

Authors can modify the authors information, classification and content of their abstract(s) directly on the submission system until Monday 15 November 2021, 23:59 CET.

Consider carefully your submission main section, topic and presentation type. As EFORT aims to showcase the best available research, all abstracts will be scored according to their scientific and clinical value, relevance to the EFORT activities, suitability of methods to aims, conclusions confirmed by results, objectivity of statements, originality of work and overall value to the Orthopaedics & Trauma community.

Save the date for the upcoming EFORT Webinar

On Monday 29 November 2021 at 19:00 CET, the EFORT webinar on 3D Printed Reconstructions in Complex Pelvic Revisions and Oncology Surgery will focus on the latest advances made in the reconstruction of the pelvis using 3D printed technology.

Specific aspects, decision-making, techniques of resection and reconstruction in musculoskeletal oncology will be addressed. Moreover, the indications in the complex revision of total hip arthroplasty will be discussed. It will be chaired by Pietro Ruggieri, Italy; Rüdiger von Eisenhart-Rothe, Germany; and Andrea Angelini, Italy.

The objectives of this webinar are:

  • Understanding the issues and challenges that need to be addressed for the pelvic reconstruction in large bone defects.
  • Selecting the right surgical approach for optimum access and type of reconstruction.
  • Explaining the principles of bone tumour resection and reconstruction utilising essential tips and tricks for fixation.
