Issue I - April 2023

24th EFORT annual Congress

Erwin Morscher Honorary Lecture 2023

Misconducts in Science and Medicine

“I think that there is an important subject that currently mobilises public opinion: Fraud in the scientific and medical fields. I wanted to make it the central theme of my session, giving me also the opportunity to give some guidance to the younger healthcare professionals.”

Last year’s programme proposed to tackle the issue of Modern Patient needs, Integrity and Trust.

With “Misconducts in Science and Medicine” Professor Alain-Charles Masquelet offers us the perfect transition and EFORT is proud to give him the floor for this year’s Erwin Morscher Honorary Lecture.

The primary aim of all doctors should be to care for patients to the best of their ability. We must recognise that each patient is unique with widely varying medical, psychological, social and mental characteristics which affect understanding and decision-making.

Within what Professor Masquelet refers to as the “shared medical decision”, and perhaps even “informed consent”, the transfer of knowledge and learning remains key, despite the current disruptive period.

Today, learning approaches & practice are in full swing.

Attendance to this Honorary Lecture is included in the full-congress registration.

We are pleased to announce that all the scientific sessions details of our 24th EFORT Congress are available online.

Day passes: We are adapting the registration grid for you

In today's global marketplace, we are sensitive to value for money and the time people can afford to be away from their jobs.

Today, as of the late fee registration period, we are introducing day passes available online and onsite to create even more added value.

In just one day or two, make the most out of it and streamline your time at the congress to gain practical knowledge and discover innovative solutions.

And if you decide to stay longer, you can upgrade your package at any time by purchasing an additional day ticket or paying the difference between your day ticket price and the full onsite registration fee.

We look forward to welcoming you from 24 to 26 May 2023 in Vienna, Austria, where you will learn about the “Future of Orthopaedics and Traumatology”

Main Theme highlighted sessions: How can we nail it down?

Building the Future of Orthopaedics and Traumatology is indeed a broad topic and yet the importance and capacity to innovate sustains medical progress.

How to keep clinical progress, transfer of knowledge and the human factor in balance with the needs (and constraints) of our daily professional life and to a larger extent our economies is a real focus in Vienna 2023.

So, from the freshly released new scientific programme of this year which are the sessions closest to the main theme of Building Orthopaedics & Traumatology?

Let us guide you through a first selection of sessions:
