EFORT Today April 2026 | EDITORIAL: A Confluence of Excellence in Málaga

Dear Orthopaedic and Trauma community, Dear friends,

In less than a month, from Monday 04 May to Wednesday 06 May, the European Orthopaedic and Traumatology community will gather in the vibrant city of Málaga, Spain, for the 27th EFORT Annual Congress. This landmark event has truly become a global crossroads for our specialty, attracting world-renowned experts and prestigious international partners, including SICOT, AAOS, APOA, and AOA.

We are glad to announce that EFORT Congress 2026 has been accredited with up to 17 European CME credits (ECMEC®by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME).

This year, we have intentionally designed the scientific program to move beyond traditional lectures, fostering a culture of active, high-level debate. A cornerstone of this evolution is the prominent role of our young moderators in every session. By integrating the next generation of surgeons into our leadership, EFORT ensures that the future of O&T is represented today, bringing fresh perspectives to our established scientific excellence.

Our program is richer than ever, featuring full-day tracks on Hip and Knee arthroplasty, alongside specialised sessions tackling the most pressing issues of our time—from the integration of Artificial Intelligence in the OR to navigating the complexities of the Medical Device Regulation (MDR) and the Digital Omnibus proposal. We will also explore the latest advancements in biological therapies and complex trauma management, ensuring a comprehensive look at the digital and clinical frontier of our discipline.

In parallel to these scientific sessions, daily Industry Collaborative Sessions will showcase cutting-edge technology in action. With the dedicated support of sponsors like AOreckon, Becton, Dickinson & Co., Stryker, Ad Vita, Enovis, Philips, AOreckon, Dikinson and Implantcast, we continue to bridge the gap between surgical innovation and clinical reality. These partnerships prove that constructive dialogue is not just an ambition, but the engine driving our profession forward.

We are eager to welcome you all to Málaga and look forward to the fruitful scientific exchanges that will define the future of Orthopaedics and Traumatology!

Best Regards,
